Autumn Visitors

Hunter and Alex came by on Saturday (@ 9:30 in the morning). Hunter was having a friend over from school, and he wanted his friend to know I was his cousin. So, he brought him by to hang out with Kyle, Ryan, and me. We carved pumpkins and had a good time. Nothing like spontaneous creativity!! :)

9 month pics

Kyle was really good when we got his pictures taken. He loved to ride on the truck. I wish I had a camcorder there. He was hilarious!! I don't know if I can wait for Santa to bring him a toy like that. We might have to get one early!
The pictures turned out great. Kyle looks so cute in his jersey. I love the "action shots" in the collage!

Rob & Rene's Wedding

Rob and Rene got married last weekend. Kyle loves his uncle Rob. It was a beautiful wedding, and a perfect day. Ryan looked pretty good in his Wranglers, too.

9 months

Kyle went to his 9 month check up a week ago. He tore the paper sheet that was on the table to shreds. He weighed 18 lbs. He was 27 3/4" tall, and his head was 17 3/4" inches. His weight and height are in the 50th percentile, and his charlie brown head is in the 75th. :) The doctor couldn't believe he is already cruising around. Kyle is into everything, and he's always happy. He is truly a blessing.

Fair Time

Way back in July and August we went to the Clark County fair, Johnson County Fair, and the Indiana State Fair.
Kyle saw his cousin Austin's heifer.
He experienced his first demolition derby with his cousin Sarah (she was the Johnson County fair queen!!).
Garland and Ben took Kyle to check out the John Deere tractors.

We're back

I know I've really slacked off on the blogging, and I apologize. I hope to do better in the future. Here's an update to what's been going on in the Cooks' life. I'm teaching fifth grade at New Washington now. It's wonderful, and I am very glad to be teaching in my hometown. I've been really busy, though. Starting up a classroom after the school year is not something I would wish on anyone. It was extremely draining, and I am just now getting settled. Kyle has met many milestones since my last post. I plan to catch you up in the following posts.

Swimming

We have been swimming every chance we get this summer. Kyle loves the water. He just lounges in his float or "swims" around in our arms.

Pulling Up

Kyle is pulling up on everything. He just started Sunday, but he got the hang of it really fast. He's crawling everywhere, too. Time is flying by too fast.

Freezing Sweet Corn

We started freezing sweet corn yesterday. This is a tradition that my mom used to do with her mom. My mom has pictures of me when I was a baby "helping out." We froze about 65 quart size bags yesterday. Notice who is working and who is playing with Kyle in these pictures. (Just kidding, we all did our part.)

Jessica & Robby's Wedding

We went to Jessica & Robby's wedding after the Fellows' reunion on Saturday. Kyle was fussy so we didn't stay at the reception very long.

I did get a picture of him with Uncle Bud and Aunt Lou, though. Uncle Bud is his great grandma Kinder's brother.

Fellows' Reunion

Kyle went to his first Fellows' reunion on Saturday. We didn't get to stay long because we had to be at a wedding at 2:00, but it was nice to see the family.

Driving?!?!

Papaw Steve put Kyle in the driver's seat of his truck. Kyle was very excited. It made a cute pic, but I think it'll be a while before Kyle is driving.

4th of July

We celebrated Independence Day at my uncle's house. Their house overlooks the Ohio River. It is an amazing view! Kyle was pretty tired when they started the fireworks. He didn't get scared, though. He loved the fiber optic light Grandma brought for him.

Here's what it looks like from their front yard.

Welcome, Lilly Jean Foster

Lilly Jean Foster (Kyle's Cousin) was born this morning at 10:38 am. She weighed 6lb 11oz and was 18 inches long. Ryan's sister, Lena and her husband Toby are very proud but exhausted.
Kyle thought Lilly was pretty neat. He was ready to grab hold!!

Yeah, Kyle got to spend some time with Nanny!!!
Tristan and Daniel are so excited to have a little sister.
Yeah, Kyle got to spend some time with Grandma Rheta, too!

6 months!!!

Kyle has changed so much. He loves to be outside on the porch. We have a rubber mat out there and he army crawls all over it.
We have a slide show picture frame on our mantle, and he watches it and coos at the pictures as they change.
He gives wonderful hugs and kisses and he's really playful.

He started eating solid foods at five months and within two weeks he was eating three meals a day.

He sits up on his own. He tries to pull up and he loves to stand.

At his 6 month checkup he weighed 16 lbs. 12 oz. and was 26 inches long.

Purdue

Kyle and Amber went up to Purdue with Papaw and Grandma for The Indiana FFA convention. We just hung out while Papaw took his students to their meetings. It was nice to go visit Purdue again. While we were up there Papaw took a side trip to see the windmills in Benton County, Indiana.

Father's Day

Ryan rocked Kyle to sleep on the porch before church on Father's Day. He's such a good dad.
