God is Good!

God has been so real in our lives, and I just wanted to share what he has done for us lately. We had a revival meeting at our church in March. The minister preached a message about witnessing and sharing God with friends and family. God is so important to me and I lean on him daily. I haven't always done this, and my life has plenty of scars from where I have not drawn nigh to God..... Okay now I'm rambling, what this post is all about is my story and your story. I want my friends and family to know my story and I want to know your story. Following is the "beginning" of my story.

I grew up in a Christian home and have always gone to church. I have not always loved God, though. When I was young I got wrapped up in the traditions of the church and I had a mental understanding of God’s love and forgiveness. I was very young and I wasn’t mature enough to understand what that meant for me personally. I thought I was “saved” and going to heaven, but I hadn’t accepted a relationship with Jesus. When I was in 8th grade, I went to a church camp and at that point in my life I was pretty far gone. I know my parents were scared for my life. At this camp, God opened my eyes to see what I was missing. I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus, and I felt the opportunity to accept his love and forgiveness. He is my strength, and I am so thankful for his grace. There’s a whole lot more to this story as my relationship with Jesus grew, and the best part is this story will not end.

When did God become real in your life?
If you want to share your Salvation experience, I'd love to hear it. If this is foreign to you, and you have no idea what I am trying to express here, let me know and I'd love to explain it to you.
